Tips and resources for our year round Hurricane members
What type of equipment does my swimmer need for practice?
Our practice group descriptiosn below have the basics listed, and coaches will communicate any additional items at the beginning of the season. For those new to the team, download our Equipment Guide with descriptions, photos and tips for purchasing swim gear.
Where I can I buy training equipment and team gear?
Training equipment and team gear can be purchased anywhere you like, though it can be hard to find locally when it isn't summer swim season. Our favorite online sources are our Reddiset Team store, and Swim Outlet. Reddiset offers a 20% discount on Speedo training equipment, and also offers team-branded suits and spiritwear. Reddiset does our team suit fittings once a year, but you can also email them at anytime with questions on swim gear.
We also have a small selection of frequently replaced items on hand for a suggested donation, to help kids keep training! These items include replacement team caps, snorkels and bungees. To request team gear/equipment, fill out this form: https://forms.office.com/r/UZ0fPQkhi8
Team Spirit wear is available year round through the Reddiset store. Swimmers also recieve one tshirt per year in the fall and the team usually does a winter spiritwear fundraiser for families to order extra team gear. Team Car Magnets are available year round via the request form linked above.
How do I request a replacement cap?
Each swimmer is given a team cap at the start of the season. Replacement caps can be requested via the link below, a suggested donation to cover the expense of extra caps is included on the form. Coaches will make sure your swimmer gets them during practice! (If you know ahead of time that your cap is missing, please request it the week BEFORE a meet! Meet mornings are busy for everyone!)

How will I be notified of practice cancellations or weather delays?
All practice changes are reported via our Member Accounts. Your dashboard has a daily calendar and any changes to practice will show up there. If your notifications are set to recieve important emails, this information will also be sent to you via email and text message.
The Columbus Aquatic Center clears the pool deck if lightning or thunder is detected within a 6 mile radius. Coachs will remain with swimmers and will make a determination about how to handle practices as this happens. Please monitor email when the weather is iffy and stay nearby in case of a weather delay during practice.
Who can I contact with questions about my swimmer's overall progress, practice work or meet results??
Your swimmer's coach is the best source for detailed information about your swimmer's progress and skills. They love to talk about all things swimming! We recommend emailing them with questions or to schedule a time to chat as their on-deck time during practices or meets can be limited.
Swimmers are encouraged to speak with their coach about their questions during practice as well - "Talk to your coach" is a great piece of advice for developing a swimmer's independence and ownership.
Who can I contact with questions about my fees or billing?
Members can access all invoices via their member account. Log in and select "My Account." Your upcoming incoice, most recent invoice and ALL past invoices are listed there. Click on the invoice to review it and select "See Details" for details on each charge.

How can I connect with other families on the team?
We have a Member Facebook Group to help parents connect with each other.
