Corporate, Business & Private Sponsorship

The Columbus Hurricane Swim Team, owned and operated by Columbus Aquatic Club, Inc., is a nonprofit 501(c) 3 organization (Federal Tax ID No. 58-1403010), and has been serving the Columbus area since 1977.   Hurricane swimmers have represented Columbus and Georgia locally, regionally and nationally.  Many of our athletes qualify to participate bi-annually in the Georgia State Swimming Championship Meet / Georgia Games.  We have had swimmers ranked within the nation’s fastest 16 athletes for a given age and event, as well as athletes qualified to swim at the Junior National level of competition and recognized as Academic All-American.  The Columbus Hurricanes Swim Team is a member club of USA-Swimming and is currently seeking recognition within USA-Swimming’s “Level-ranking” system for club excellence.  At each level of the Hurricane program, swimmers are coached to progress biomechanically, physiologically, and psychologically.  Additionally, every Hurricane swimmer, from beginner to elite, is assisted in developing life skills including championship behavior and accountability, work ethic and self-discipline, time management, commitment and loyalty.

Hurricane student athletes not only strive for excellence in the classroom and within the sport of swimming, they also give back to their community.  In addition to individual and group service projects, senior athletes forego passive participation for active service and leadership roles within the team.  

The Columbus Hurricane Swim Team proudly hosts multiple swim meets during the course of each season.  These multiple-day events attract visiting athletes and their families from across Georgia and Alabama who will stay in local hotels, eat in local restaurants, and encounter countless other local businesses during their stay. 

The Columbus Hurricanes Swim Team is currently seeking both private and corporate sponsors from citizens and businesses that serve our community.

LEVELS OF SPONSORSHIP

$1,500.00 or more—Your business name & logo displayed on a banner at the Columbus Hurricanes office on our pool deck for one year, your business name & logo displayed on a banner at all Columbus Hurricanes major events for one year, your business name and logo displayed on the Hurricanes’ website www.swimhurricanes.com for one year, as well as a full page ad in each Hurricane-hosted swim meet program for 1 full year.

$1,000.00 or more—Your business name and logo displayed on a banner at the Columbus Hurricanes’ poolside office for one year, your business name and logo displayed on the Hurricanes` website for one year, and a full page ad in each Hurricane-hosted meet program for one year.

$500.00 or more—Your business name and logo displayed on the Hurricanes’ website for one year, and a full page ad in each Hurricane meet program for one year.

Any donation amount—Monetary donations, as well as professionals donating time or services and ACV of donated property may qualify in full or in part for community service hours and/or federal income tax deduction.

Unless otherwise requested, proceeds will go toward Hurricane programs which include our Hurricane Relief Fund, Swimming Scholarship Program, the Hurricane Masters Swimming, and toward team equipment purchases and maintenance. Your charitable contributions are tax-deductible.

Columbus Hurricanes Swim Team provides a positive and inclusive environment for athletes of all ages and ability levels to develop life skills and become an asset to their community.  We need your help to ensure that this program may continue to serve the demands of these young athletes.

HURRICANE RELIEF FUND

The Columbus Hurricanes Swim Team’s Hurricane Relief Fund is designed to take the Hurricanes forward, beyond the limitations of the team’s current operating environment and to the next level in terms of growth, development, training opportunities, facility independence and fiscal responsibility.  Private as well as corporate donations specifically earmarked for this fund will be directly applied to outstanding Columbus Hurricane Swim Team obligations, and when satisfied will then be applied to future team projects and purchases.  The Hurricane Relief Fund will not be used to cover operating expenses or payroll activities.

The Columbus Hurricanes Swim Team will recognize contributors with the same four levels of sponsorship/contribution to the Hurricane Relief Fund as with regular corporate/business sponsorship.

HURRICANE SWIMMING SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Columbus Hurricanes Swim Team’s Swimming Scholarship Program is designed to defray or negate in entirety the monthly fees for tuition, fund-raising, and meet participation incurred by an athlete or family demonstrating the need for assistance.  Private as well as corporate donations specifically designated for this fund will be held in escrow by the Columbus Aquatic Club and applied only to fees applicable to individual scholarship recipients.

SPONSORSHIP THROUGH ADVERTISEMENT

Advertise your business or other personal interest in a Columbus Hurricanes Swim Team meet “heat sheet.”  Heat sheets list the complete order of events and every participant’s place in the line-up during our multiple-day swimming competitions.  Every athlete, family and spectator will purchase a heat sheet program at the beginning of the meet and will continuously refer to it throughout the competition.  In addition to using their heat sheets for writing notes, and recording times and scores, many families will save their heat sheets as souvenirs.  Hundreds of people will come to the Columbus area during each of the meets we host during the year.  Sponsor us by paying for an advertisement that countless new customers will see.  Download and print our Heat Sheet Advertisement and Banner Purchase Form.
