2010 GA Hurricane Groundhog Invite:

February 5-6th at the DA Turner YMCA.  Open to all ALL; Hosted by HURR-GA; Timed finals format; SCY; Sanctioned by GA Swimming; No cuts required; All Hurricane coaches will attend; Entry into this event has closed. 

Parent Jobs during Upcoming Groundhog Meet:

This is a Hurricanes-hosted meet.  This is a HUGE source of revenue and an essential part of the team’s annual operating budget.  It’s one of only two times a year where our own parents have to work during a meet instead of just sitting in the bleachers and watching.  We’ve got to get up and take care of the thirteen visiting teams during this meet, just as those teams take care of working the meet for our kids when we go to their pools.  Each Hurricane family must provide at least one parent-volunteer to work a meet job for the duration of each session in which an athlete from that family participates.  Contact Amy Davis or sign up on the Parent Job Positions roster posted at the office window today for your first choice of assignments.  We still need TIMERS; you don’t have to know anything to be a timer, and it’s the best place in the pool to watch all of the races!

Junior 1 & Senior 1 Athlete-Family-Coach Consultations:

JR1 and SR1 families should schedule a time to meet with Coach Brian at their earliest convenience.  Uninformed or rash decisions will only adversely affect your child’s swimming career.  Come hear an assessment of your child’s position in the sport, a review of all available options for your future training, and some personal recommendations.  Consultations scheduled after the conclusion of the 2010 GA Groundhog Invite must take place at a location other than the YMCA.

CAC Quarterly Meeting of the Board of Directors:

The Columbus Aquatic Club will hold its quarterly meeting of the Board of Directors at 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 11th at the D. A. Turner YMCA.  In accordance with our corporation’s by-laws, CAC provides notice of such meetings, and all meetings of the CAC Board of Directors are open to the general membership.

2010 GHSA High School Swimming & Diving State Champs:

February 10-13th at Westminster School in Atlanta, GA.  Qualified High School Swim Team members only; GHSA State cut required in each individual event entered; last POP 4:00 PM, Monday, February 1st; Documents and links posted here are for informational purposes only; entry into this event and facilitation of all associated requirements is conducted by your high school coach.  Links to Meet Info, HS State cuts, and directions to the venue are available through this event on the Calendar page.
