Parent Education Program (PEP) Talks:

No PEP Talk questions submitted.

CAC Board of Directors Meeting—Special Session:

The Board of Directors will hold a special session meeting to complete unfinished business from the agenda of the quarterly meeting and to propose changes to current by-laws on Thursday, April 30th, at 6:00pm at the D.A. Turner YMCA.  These meetings are open to the general membership.

 

Annual Awards Banquet:

The 2009 team awards banquet will be held at the Brookstone School, from 6:00-9:00pm, on Friday, May 1st.  Help us recognize our members’ achievements from the past year, and say farewell to our team’s graduating seniors.  Cost is $10.00/plate for parents and guests, and there is no charge for swimmers’ plates.  Print the invitation/menu—available on the Calendar page—and return the bottom RSVP portion to your coach by the end of practices Friday, April 24th.

 

Fundraising Account Unpaid Balance Now Due May 1st:

If you have opted to make a cash donation in lieu of participating in fundraising events, be sure to ask for a receipt—documenting your “charitable contribution”—for next year’s taxes.  Printed reminders, including the unpaid balance for each family’s fundraising account have been placed in your mailbox in the team office.  The deadline for fulfilling fundraising requirements has been extended to Friday, May 1st.  We have a last-minute opportunity for families to participate again this year in the Bruster's Ice Cream coupon fundraiser; information and materials available in the team office.

 

Swim Macon Long Course Invite:

This is the first meet of our 2009 Long Course season.  It’s open to all AP, SD, JR2, JR1, SR; Hosted by SMAC-GA in Macon, GA; Timed finals format; Sanctioned by GA Swimming; No cuts required; Enter online through the Calendar page or sign the roster posted at the office window by the end of practices Monday, May 4th.

 

Double Churches Pool Schedule:

Our tentative date to begin practices at the Double Churches Community Park pool is Monday, May 18th.  We are only changing locations on that date; practices will continue on the current schedule.  Our tentative date to switch to the summer (morning) schedule is June 1st.

 

Two BOD Positions Remain Vacant:

Take an active role in the decision-making process that drives your team!  Ask any current Director about the remaining two open positions.  You could help promote our image in the community through various forms of media as the Communications Director or help keep our programs and our stuff up and running as the Support Services Director. 

 

Summer Job Opportunity:

Are you, or is someone you know, looking for a lifeguard job this summer?  The original home of the Columbus Hurricanes—the Windsor Park Pool—needs lifeguards for the upcoming summer season.  You need your own transportation to and from the pool.  Interested applicants should contact Mr. Grooms ASAP at 706-321-8376.

May 29-30          JR2: Practice as scheduled but with Brian
